RAVEN
the EXTRAORDINARY
New Forest Pony
author Michelle Burgess
illustrator David Tovey
This story is inspired by the real-life pony, Raven, and his human, Jessica.
Raven thought he was just an ordinary little black pony running on the Forest with his friends.
He was never the fastest pony and always ended up being the one trying to catch up with the others when playing chase.
Sometimes, he would see horses being ridden across the open Forest and then he would dream of finding his own human and sharing adventures together.
One day that happened and he turned his head to see a little girl walking towards him.
Suddenly, the ordinary little pony understood the words his mother had often spoken to him,
“Raven, believe in yourself. You are extraordinary!”

Raven with Michelle, Jessica, Ben and Graham.

A lovely heartwarming story and fantastic illustrations.
Holly Wilson –
A beautifully written and illustrated book. My daughter sat and listened intently the whole time, only talking to say how pretty the pictures and colours in the book are. A really lovely, gentle story about building confidence and she has already requested to be read it again tomorrow.
Will definitely be a new favourite!

A smashing story brought to life with glorious illustrations. A perfect fable to encourage children (and New Forest Ponies) to believe in themselves, be brave and try their best. I bought it for my grandson. He’s only 8 months old but I know this will be a firm favourite as he grows up.
Debbie Ball –
We read it to our 6 month old grandson who absolutely loved looking at the wonderful illustrations. It kept his attention while we read the beautiful story of Raven and Jess. A fabulous book I would highly recommend.

A delightful story of discovery and friendship with a sprinkle of rainbow magic, beautifully illustrated. A story to read to little ones and a pleasure for young independent readers to experience.
